Māori Language Week – Te Wiki o te Reo Māori is September 12 to September 18
Kia ora koutou whanau Katorika
Māori Language Week – Te Wiki o te Reo Māori began on Monday 12 September and runs till next Sunday, the 18th. The NZ Catholic Bishops Conference Te Huinga o ngā Pīhopa Katorika o Aotearoa is very keen to support and celebrate this taonga in all our dioceses, parishes and schools.
Deacon Danny Karatea-Goddard -- Māori Advisor to the NZCBC – has prepared this very interesting attached material for the week. Please use it freely to promote te reo Māori and the week with posters, social media posts, in newsletters and your daily activities. Ka pai Danny, kia ora.
The resources include this handy list of greetings and signings-off for letters and emails.
The National Liturgy Office also has material for this special week, including resources for learning the Our Father in Māori. And in this video, Pa Peter Tipene of Auckland Diocese prays the Our Father in te reo Māori.
