New missal to be implemented by 25 March
By Sunday 25 March 2012, the fifth Sunday of Lent, all New Zealand Catholic parishes will be using the new translation of the Roman Missal. The New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference has announced that from this date it will be the only authorised missal and that all other interim publications will be redundant.
Copies of the new translation of the missal were sent to dioceses on Friday 17 February 2012 and are now being distributed to parishes.
The missal is in English and Maori and is the first bilingual missal approved for use in New Zealand.
