Social Action organisations

The teaching of the Catholic Church on social matters has given rise to The Principles of Catholic Social Teaching, which provide a framework for analysis and action in addressing injustice.

There are a number of Catholic organisations actively committed to working for justice and peace at parish, diocesan and national level.

MissioNZ

Missio in New Zealand is one of a number of National offices in more than 120 countries.

Today, this “family” of mission societies is the Church’s primary means to inform Catholics about her worldwide missionary work and encourage their active participation in those efforts, through prayer and sacrifice. For example,  propagating faith, building schools, providing health and nutrition programmes, medications and learning resources.
