Chief Executive role at Te Kupenga now open

Te Kupenga – Catholic Leadership Institute has been formed from the merger of Good Shepherd College (Auckland) and The Catholic Institute (based in Wellington).  The Board wishes to appoint its foundation Chief Executive, commencing early 2020.

Te Kupenga (meaning ‘the net’) has a big vision to achieve, of forming leaders to provide skilled and collaborative education, scholarship, ministry, witness and voice in and from the Catholic church in Aotearoa New Zealand.

It will build on, and extend further, the achievements and impact of the merged organisations, with a stronger mandate for growth, collaboration and engagement.

It needs a quality of leadership which is ambitious about growth, savvy about people, courageous about change and prudent about risk.

The Board is looking for a Chief Executive with credible change leadership experience, preferably gained in a faith-based, not-for-profit or tertiary education setting.

Core competencies in strategic leadership, marketing and business development, building teams, quality operational delivery and relationship management are critical to success.

Equally important are attributes of emotional maturity, composure, drive for achievement, confidence in bi-cultural and cross-cultural settings and persuasive communicator.

The personal integrity and beliefs to lead a Catholic organisation are essential.
