Working alongside the CEC Chaplain, and reporting to the Board, the Director is responsible for the full range of CEC’s current responsibilities, identifying new ways for CEC to reach out to New Zealanders curious about the Catholic faith and encouraging Catholics to share their faith.

The Director has a high profile within the national Catholic community and considerable autonomy in running CEC’s operations, building relationships and designing new events and services.

To be suitable for the role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Successful experience in on-line marketing and use of social media, preferably in a non-profit environment
  • A sound grasp of the essentials of managing a small organisation, including strategy, business planning, and managing staff and professional advisors, finances and operations

We are looking for a leader who communicates well, draws on others’ talents and strengths, takes a positive and collaborative approach to relationships, finds creative solutions to problems and balances initiative with judgment.

To be eligible for appointment, candidates must be an active member of a Catholic faith community and able to represent the teaching and practices of the Catholic church. The role is based in Wellington.
