Religious Orders
Religious orders or congregations are groups of men and women who have taken vows of poverty, chastity and obedience as part of committing their lives to Christ. Religious orders have different ministries and charisms. All have a commitment to prayer and the spiritual life, but contemplative orders devote themselves primarily to prayer. Other orders have ministries which involve their members in working in Church or the community.
